A Closer Look at NFT Card Utility

Thus far, we’ve only scratched the surface when it comes to NFT utility. In addition to using the cards to play the games as well as turn a profit and use them as collectibles, Cubix NFT holders can enjoy the following benefits:

  1. Card owners may choose to rent out their cards (a feature to be made available via the marketplace). We have designed a unique rental model for Cubix community. Users will have the opportunity to generate passive income, with the split to be determined entirely by the user. That way, the market can determine the ideal rates, instead of having the company force what it thinks are ideal rates upon the user. (The Cubix team believes in true ownership, and isn’t afraid to show it.) For assuming this risk, in exchange, Cubix takes a small commission. Rental agreements are to be executed via smart contracts, for instance, by renting out a card for a period of 1 month.

  2. The first owner (aka the minter) stands to receive 0.5% in royalties from every subsequent sale of the NFT card, in perpetuity. Therefore, even if a popular card is sold 20 (or even 200) times, the first owner will always receive a 0.5% cut every single time the card is sold.

  3. The card owner may set up and run an auction for a specific NFT card. Users will also retain lifetime ownership over their NFT cards. This brings up the following question: “What happens when a player retires?” When a player retires, the NFT card owner will be faced with two options: a) We are developing utilities for retired players like P2P simulators mobile games b) Hold onto the NFT card of the retired player as a digital collectible, just as card collectors do in real life. After all, simply because a player has retired does not mean that the value of the card will decline. In fact, it might do the exact opposite, and appreciate considerably as it becomes a rare collectible. (NFTs for gameplay will not be available for minting for retired players.) There is a hard cap of up to 10,000 NFTs per player. This hard cap is forever. More importantly, however, there is a time cap. Specifically, before every major tournament or sporting event, Cubix will begin selling packs for a limited time of several weeks. Roughly 1 week prior to an event, the packs will no longer become available. However, at this stage, should players still wish to purchase individual Cubix cards, they may do so by visiting a secondary marketplace of Cubix & Opensea.
